My Submissions for our photo contest! :)
Contrast
For this photo I used the CONTRAST technique on a photo I took of the Skylon Tower in Niagara Falls, ON. The contrast tenique is used by photographers to bring out certain parts of the photo, this can greatly change the mood of the photo as well.
Negative space
For this photo I used the NEGATIVE SPACE tecnique. This photo is of a flower, taken at my home. This technique provides balance in an image and allows the viewer to better focus on just one important detail of the photo. In this case the flower is the focal point and the negative space in the background makes it so.
Leading Lines
For this photo I used the technique LEADING LINES. Leading lines creates depth and perspective to an image drawing eyes to the picture. It creates a relationship between the background and the foreground. In the photo the lines lead up to the main point of the picture. This picture was taken at St. Patrick's School.
Fill The Frame
For this photo I used the technique called FILL THE FRAME. When people are just getting into photography they tend to take their photos from far back never having close ups, this technique teaches you that it is okay to fill the frame of the camera and the picture will still come out looking great.
Viewpoint
This photo of my little cousin Bailee uses the technique VIEWPOINT. This is used to make people look at the photo in a different way and can also change the meaning of a photo or make the photo better. Beginning photographers tend to just take a picture of their subject at the same height never thinking to take it from a lower or higher point. This can make the photo very boring sometimes so viewpoint is a way to mix it up and catch the viewers' attention.
